Sextant

Terms of service

Last updated: October 27, 2026

These terms apply to Sextant Web (“Sextant”), a service of Basil Design Company LLC (“we”), 148 Elcho Ave, Crested Butte, CO 81224, USA. When you create an account or use Sextant, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you use Sextant for a company, you agree for that company.

1. The service

Sextant shows website analytics and SEO data for the sites you add, and lets you and the AI agents you connect work with that data. Sextant runs its own analytics and SEO engines and hosts them for you.

2. Your account

You sign in with an email link or with Google. Keep access to your email and your Google account secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account, for the people you invite, and for the levels you give them. You must be at least 16 years old.

3. Your sites and data

Add only sites that you own or that you have permission to measure. Tell your visitors about the analytics on your site as the law where you operate requires. You own your data. You give us permission to process it only to run Sextant for you, as the privacy policy explains.

4. Google and other services

When you connect Google Search Console, you allow Sextant to read your Search Console data and, only if you choose to verify a site with Sextant, to verify your domain and add it to your Search Console. When you import from Google Analytics, you allow Sextant to read your Google Analytics reports (read only) and copy daily totals into your site. Admins of a site see the Google account and properties connected to it. Your use of Google services also follows Google’s terms. You can disconnect Search Console in Settings › Integrations, undo an import, or remove Sextant’s access in your Google Account, at any time. Payments go through Stripe.

5. Plans, payment and cancelling

  • Each workspace has one plan with shared usage allowances: the Pro trial ($19 for the first month, then Pro), Pro ($39/month) or Enterprise ($199/month). Free and earlier plans continue for workspaces that already have them. Existing legacy contracts retain their recorded terms until an agreed migration.
  • The Pro trial is for new customers, once per account. After the first month it renews as Pro at $39/month unless the Owner cancels it.
  • A plan renews every month until the workspace Owner cancels it in the payment portal. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid month; saved data stays available.
  • Paid plans can pay for extra use past the plan: events at $3 per 100,000, recordings at $5 per 1,000, and Research past the included credit at the provider’s price × 1.5. Extra use is off until the Owner sets a monthly limit for it, and never goes past that limit.
  • The workspace Owner pays. We charge the plan through Stripe at the start of each period, and extra use on the next invoice after the period ends. Prices do not include taxes where taxes apply.
  • Fees are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund. If a payment fails, new usage pauses until the payment method is updated.
  • We tell you at least 30 days before a price change takes effect.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Sextant to break the law, to collect data that you have no right to collect, to send events that did not come from real visitors, to overload the service, to get around limits, to access data that is not yours, or to copy or resell the service. We can pause a site or close an account that breaks these rules. When we can, we tell you first.

7. AI agents and API keys

Agents and API keys act as you, within your level on each site. You are responsible for what they do. Data that Sextant sends to an AI agent you connect then follows that agent provider’s terms. Keep keys secret and revoke a key that you no longer use.

8. Our service and your feedback

We own Sextant, its software and its design. These terms do not give you rights to them beyond using the service. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without paying you.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep Sextant available, but we do not promise that it never stops. We can change features and these terms. When a change is important, we tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.

10. Disclaimers and liability

Sextant is provided “as is”. Analytics, search data, SEO estimates and AI answers can be wrong or incomplete, and we do not promise any search ranking or result. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, special or lost-profit damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of the sites you add, the data you collect, or how you use Sextant against these terms, you cover our reasonable costs of that claim.

12. Ending

You can delete your sites and your account at any time. When you delete a site, we delete its analytics and SEO data and revoke its Google access. We can end the service for an account that breaks these terms. Sections 8, 10, 11 and 13 stay in force after the account ends.

13. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, and disputes go to the courts of Colorado, unless the law where you live gives you other rights. Questions: hello@basildesign.co.
